Ballet Arm Positions

st position: Your arms are in front of your body, extended out very slightly, about a foot away from your body. Arms are rounded, making an oval shape without your hands touching.

nd position: Arms are still slightly rounded, as in 1st position, however this time they are fully separated and extended on either side of your body, as though you are a human T.

rd position: In third position, you keep one of your arms in 2nd position while rising the opposite arm above your head being sure to keep both arms slightly rounded.

th position: Start in 3rd position, pulling the rounded arm extended to the side of your body directly in front, so that it lands in 1st position.

th position: Both arms are raised above the head and slightly rounded making an open oval.
